End Of August Update
Hello everyone. Sorry for the delay in getting this information up here. We have been busy getting kids ready for school and took a quick trip to Victoria.
On the 23rd Bill had some complications from meds that were being given to him to help his bone marrow production. He had sharp pains in his chest and around his heart. Fortunately, doctors were able to get him feeling better in about 3 hours and he had a restful night after that. The next morning a scan was done and small blood clots were found in his lungs. Due to low blood volume he couldn't have blood thinners until he was given blood transfusions, so a few transfusions were ordered. The blood thinners did the trick and the issues have not reappeared.
By the 26th Bill's blood was close to normal levels - yay! Food wise soft foods and liquids like broth are being enjoyed.
Bill has enjoyed some quality time with Clint Eastwood westerns, watching people park from his window and visiting with family.
Chemo was scheduled to start this Wednesday but has been put on hold as there are some issues around a section of bowel. The surgeon said surgery was not an option so we are waiting to hear about the next steps. Hopefully tomorrow the doctors will have some answers for us. Long weekends make these things take longer.
Bill is in good spirits and has gained some weight so that is positive. Please pray that these positive moments continue. Bill can see the blog from his phone so please leave comments for him.. Bill says, “Getting fabulous care and seems like everyone is cheering me on! This is a very positive environment to be in!"
Much love,
Erin & Ryan
